Elections are not won through manifestoes – Lawrence Tetteh
Dr Lawrence Tetteh, a World Renowned Evangelist on Wednesday stated that the December 7 general election is not about strategies, manifestoes, rallies, bill boards and campaigns, because leaders are enthroned by God.
He therefore asked Ghanaians “to go to the throne room of God and asked for a leader through prayers”.
Dr Tetteh, an Economist and President of the UK based Worldwide Miracle Outreach, was speaking in Accra as part of a three –day Healing Crusade on the theme: “When the Holy Spirit moves,” in conjunction with the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
The crusade is being hosted by the Ga Presbytery Accra and Osu Ebenezer Congregation, from Wednesday, October 26 – Friday October 28, at the Osu Ebenezer Presby Park at 6pm each night and is being hosted by Reverend Andy Odonkor.
“It is God who chooses a leader and so Ghanaians must accept the outcome of the Presidential and Parliamentary elections,” he said.
He said there was therefore the need for the nation to pray against the devil choosing a leader for the country.
“We need the direction and move of the Holy Spirit to do what is right, through humility, prayer, seeking the ways of God and trusting Him,” he said.
Dr Tetteh called on the government to promote social issues that often inure to the socio-economic development of the nation.
Professor Rev Emmanuel Martey, the out-going Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, who touched on the theme said when the Holy Spirit moved miracles happened.
He congratulated the Ga Presbytery for organising the programme for the Holy Spirit to transform lives.
He asked the Presbytery to use the crusade to pray for the nation especially for peaceful elections
Mr András Szabó, Ambassador of Hungary, who was the Special Guest of Honour, told the Ghana News Agency that he was moved by the discipline and affection for life shown by Ghanaians at the crusade.
The Lawrence Tetteh Ministries is teaming up with the Presbyterian Church of Ghana to hold the evangelistic and healing crusade comprising prayer, intercession for the nation for a peaceful election and a thanksgiving service.
